Purpose:
To support and guide organizations as they
create workable plans to reach their goals and find
solutions to their problems. The process is geared
toward helping attendees polish their skills to:
1) Become viable leaders and team players
2) Develop unique strategies required to work with
teams, boards, and committees
3) Understand how their own core values and behavior
styles impact their performance
4) Commit to getting the job done once it is defined
Objectives: Participants will:
• Identify their personal interests, attitudes
and values and understand how these influence their
decisions. (Inventory is an additional fee)
• Learn techniques to facilitate the dynamics
of a meeting
• Develop a working knowledge of Hoshin Kanri
planning (see attached)
• Improve understanding of communication techniques
• Utilize an effective conflict resolution
model
• See the difference in point of view and
viewing point
• Improve their opportunities for reaching
consensus
• Appreciate the history and politics of the
organization while using those to springboard new
ideas
• Understand the purpose of leadership within
the organization
• Build better teams through improved communication
Logistics:
Many organizations understand the need to get away
and focus on their plans for the future for an extended
period of time. Shirley can help you decide how
much time is necessary for this retreat type environment
and suggest venues that meet the needs of your group
and that fits within your budget.
Format:
The format is fast-paced with plenty of time for
discussion and debriefing. The atmosphere is designed
to be non-threatening and to insure that participation
is 100%.

Shirley Garrett will be available to each participant
for follow-up conversation via e-mail and phone
consultations. She will also provide monthly e-mail
